In this chapter I had discussed about the origins of the Internet and the Web and five common uses of the Internet and Web that are communicating, shopping, searching, entertainmet and education or e-learning. Then, I had described how to access the Web using providers ( the most widely used commercial Internet service providers are national service providers and wireless service providers; and browsers are programs that provide access to Web resources. I also had discussed about the Internet communications, including e-mail,instant messaging (IM) and social networking. At the same time, I also had described search tools, including search engines (yahoo!, AOL Search, google), metasearch engines (dogpile, search, Web Meta Search), and specialized search engines. Next, I had discussed the electronic commerce include B2C, C2C, B2B, and security issues. Lastly, I had described these Web utilities that are Web-based application, FTP, plug-ins, filters, Internet security suite.
